All your communications needs linked - wired or wireless, structured cabling, up to whole servers. As a complete solutions company we like to take away the worry from our clients. Every aspect of the project will be controlled by us and not a third party company. We have a strong team of six specialists of various skills and abilities to cater for your cabling needs. Communication is the key to any successful project. This is why at National Security Systems each project is assigned a cabling co-ordinator. The co-ordinator will report to you with updates of the project and assist you at site meetings. CAT5e Category 5 cables, commonly known as Cat 5, are an unshielded twisted pair cable type designed for high signal integrity. Category 5 has been superseded by the Category 5e specification. This type of cable is often used in structured cabling for computer networks such as Gigabit Ethernet, although they are also used to carry many other signals such as basic voice services, token ring, and ATM (at up to 155 Mbit/s, over short distances). This type of copper cable is the more commonly used in the majority of business and is also the most cost effective. CAT6 Category 6 otherwise known as CAT6, is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols that is backward compatible with the Category 5/5e and Category 3 cable standards. Cat-6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. The cable standard is suitable for 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) connections. It provides performance of up to 250 MHz. This more advanced type of copper cable provides a much larger bandwidth almost double compared to the CAT5e cables. In cases where the demand for large pieces of data to be transferred is rather high, CAT6 is the more appropriate choice. Optical Fibre Medium for the transmission of information in the form of light pulses along a glass wire, plastic wire or fibre. It has advantages over traditional copper wire, in that it carries more information, and is not affected by electromagnetic interference. Optical fibres applications are more for the need of extremely high bandwidth Voice A multi-conductor cable normally made up of twisted pairs for telephone (audio use) usually has several electrical requirements. Testing To guarantee customer satisfaction we at National Security Systems will always test any work carried out on site as well as report back to the appropriate client. Only when the client is completely satisfied will we consider the job finished. At National Security Systems we do everything by the book, this means for all our testing we use UK standard testing instruments. These instruments include two of the main brands Fluke and Wavetech. Networking Design Before we integrate any networked home or office we would first determine the users requirements and develop a design to meet this specification. For example it would be important to determine if the customer requires a server or just a peer-to-peer network. Also we need to determine the type of network they require and the security involved on the system. We would also consider if the customer requires remote access to their office through a Virtual Private Network (VPN), this would also determine how the network is set up. A coherent network design will allow you to do the following: - Share a single fast Internet connection between several machines.
- Share a single printer in a convenient location – get the most from your printer by maximising its use between users rather than buying dedicated printers for each person
- Backup with ease between PC's on the network
- Share devices, and peripherals.
- Share files within the organisation – make sure that everyone is using the latest information.
- Networks are scalable and can grow to suit you.
- All Internet connections are protected by a firewall to protect from hackers.
- By creating one Internet connection rather than separate dial-up accounts, the whole network can then be protected by a firewall to protect from hackers at one point.
Wired In addition to our cabling services, we can also provide you assistance in setting up your computers and peripherals to use this network effectively. This includes settings up shared files and printers, remote access and security for the whole network. No matter how big or small the network is, National Security Systems will be able to provide a practical and effective service that will improve the way that you and your company uses computers to increase productivity, reduce cost and save time. Wireless With more people moving over to wireless, we at National Security Systems can help you make this smooth transition. The main benefit of wireless is a clear working environment, free from cables. This coupled with the ability to go anywhere within range of the wireless signal gives added freedom. What people often forget is the security aspect of setting up a wireless network, this is where we can help and advise you on the steps you need to take for a secured network. Internet/Email Configuration Some of the most common problems we receive are with Internet or email setup. Most of the time our clients have ordered broadband but then get lost in the complicated instructions and equipment that they receive. At National Security Systems we can provide assistance in setting up your Internet connection(s) and the setting up of your email accounts along with some basic training on how to use it. In addition to our competitive rates, our friendly clear and concise approach will allow you to move your business forward using emails and the Internet.
